Chicago Growth Partners Announces the Successful Sale of Royall & Company

CGP’s largest investment in firm’s history yields outstanding outcome for investors.

Chicago Growth Partners is pleased to announce another successful education investment: the partial sale of our interest in Royall & Company to CHS Capital.  CGP invested in Royall three and a half years ago and worked closely with the company to drive rapid growth and a significant return on invested capital to date.  CGP remains bullish on the outlook for Royall and will continue to have a meaningful ownership position alongside CHS and company management.

Royall & Company is the leading provider of strategic direct marketing and admissions advisory services to higher education, serving traditional, non-profit colleges and universities.  The company dominates the market through a broad and deep service offering and proven, outstanding client outcomes.  Royall serves as a trusted partner and strategic advisor to over 200 of the nation’s most prestigious colleges and universities who rely on the company year after year to help them accomplish their critical objectives in undergraduate recruiting, graduate recruiting and advancement services.

CGP worked closely with the company on several value-added initiatives during its ownership.  First, CGP’s operating team recruited experienced software developers and worked on-site alongside Royall’s IT department to overhaul the product development and deployment process to improve Royall’s client response times and operating leverage.  Second, CGP worked closely with management to build out and formalize the company’s sales and marketing efforts.  Third, CGP assisted in the recruitment of key management hires, including the company’s CFO and the VP of Sales.  Lastly, CGP has worked with management to identify and pursue new growth opportunities, including potential acquisitions and recently launched offerings in graduate school recruitment and advancement services (fundraising and development).
